Hall Automotive Campaign for CHKD

Virginia Beach, VA - A two-month fund-raising program conducted by Hall Automotive has resulted in a $114,100 donation to Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD) to help fund a new health and surgery center in the Princess Anne section of Virginia Beach. Hall Automotive raised the funds during November and December of 2007, by donating $50 for each new or used vehicle sold throughout all Hall Automotive locations.

This donation marks the seventh year in which Hall has held a promotional campaign to benefit CHKD, bringing their total contribution to $1,259,000 million. Previous contribution have helped support CHKD’s child abuse program as well as a child car restraint loaner program for children with special needs.

“We are again very pleased with the results of this year’s campaign,” said Thad Nowak, president of Hall Automotive. “We are always encouraged by the response from the community and want to thank them for supporting this fundraising effort which will help CHKD better serve the children and their families. Equally, we are excited about what the new Virginia Beach facility means for the families across Hampton Roads.”

“We’re thrilled at the incredible effort the Hall Automotive family put into helping CHKD bring medical services to Virginia Beach,” said Beth Duke, CHKD senior vice president for community relations. "Their commitment to the hospital and our community is very generous and heart-warming. What a wonderful gift the Hall Automotive family is giving to children and their families."

The $21.6 million, 62,000-square-foot Virginia Beach center will bring critical medical care closer to patients in the burgeoning Princess Anne section of Virginia Beach. Each year, more than 50,000 pediatric patients travel from Virginia Beach to CHKD’s main facility in Norfolk for specialized outpatient services.

Now a MileOne affiliate, Hall Automotive was founded in 1973, starting with a single location in Virginia Beach. The company has grown to encompass 19 automobile franchises located in southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina.
